Get Equipped # 9: Mentoring Prophetic Voices

I love being on Joseph Peck’s email list because he introduces me to interesting people and amazing ministries. Plus I receive a lot of invitations to attend free webinars, most of which offer an opportunity to delve deeper into the topic. And that is how I was introduced to Ivan Roman, a prophet with an anointing to train and equip prophets.

Since I am such a crazy busy woman I have to listen carefully to the Holy Spirit about which wonderful opportunities to actually accept. When I received Joseph’s email invitation to attend Ivan Roman’s Discerning of Spirits webinar, I knew I was onboard for the journey.

My decision was confirmed to be correct in a dream that ended with a man giving me a message, “It’s good that you understand the Jewish meaning of some things.” When I saw Ivan live on Zoom for the first time, I immediately recognized him as the man in my dream. . .

But the proof is in the pudding: Even though there were several hundreds of people attending this webinar, I still had a personal encounter with God—Ivan led a spirit exercise, instructing people to ask God to show them what the Holy Spirit looked like within them. I thought that was an interesting question, something that had never occurred to me to ask God. When I looked with my spirit eyes I saw a leaf and immediately understood that it represented my ministry’s tagline: And the leaves were for the healing of the nations. So, the Lord was telling me that the Holy Spirit in me looks like the anointing for my ministry. Wow!

Ivan’s webinar was fabulous! So fabulous, in fact, that I leveled up to his year-long mentorship program, The School of the Prophets. He is a seasoned prophet and pastor, as well as an author. His books are great resources for anyone wanting a biblically sound, thorough understanding of the prophetic.

The Heart of the Prophetic teaches biblical, foundational information about the prophetic. One of the things I admire about Ivan is how transparent he is about himself and his journey to maturing as a Christian. His authenticity really comes out in this book, and is inspiring.

Engraved in my wedding ring are the words, pursue love. This is the purpose of my life. I may not get every prophecy right; not everyone I pray for may get healed, but my goal is that everyone I minister to or come in contact with, feels the love of the Father.

I suspect that Ivan’s motivation to release God’s love is a key factor in the sea of testimonies of his spot-on accurate prophecies.

Prophets Among Us is an excellent read for anyone interested in the prophetic. This is a detailed book on the gifts of prophecy and the office of the prophet, including a good explanation on the difference between the two.
