Everyday Miracles #7: Brushing My Daughter’s Hair

I recently watched the movie Letters to Juliette, and a few days ago I was thinking about the scene where the older woman brushes the young woman’s hair. As I reflected on that scene I remembered how I used to brush my daughters hair when they were little girls. An intense desire filled me, wishing I could brush one of my daughter’s hair again as I had when they were young, but I believed it would never happen because they were all adults in their 20s and 30s, so I just let go of hoping that it could happen and never gave it another thought.

I was at my daughter’s house this morning and was holding the toddler while she was getting dressed. I was pleasantly stunned when she asked me to brush her hair!! Her hairbrush was an adult size Little Mermaid hairbrush, bigger but the same as when she was a little girl!

God is so good! I never even prayed for this desire, but the desire on my heart was as much a prayer as any and He blessed me with its manifestation.

When our heart’s desires manifest we shouldn’t write it off as a happy coincidence, but recognize that God has moved to manifest what we desired.
